GLEN BENSON, 52, LIFETIME KELLOGG RESIDENT, SUCCUMBS

A lifelong Kellogg resident, Glen Benson, 52, died July 29th at a Des Moines hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon with the Rev. Herbert Miller, pastor of the Kellogg Christian church, officiating. Interment was in Newton Memorial Park cemetery.

Born Jan. 6th, 1912, at Kellogg, he was the son of Willard and Golda Ellis Benson. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

For the past 20 years he had been employed as a truck driver. He was a graduate of the Kellogg schools. On March 14th, 1936, at Bettendorf, he was united in marriage with Roberta Morris, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Coralee, at home.

Other survivors include his father, Willard Benson of Kellogg; three brothers, Ronald Benson of Grinnell and Merle and Louis Benson of Kellogg; four sisters, Mrs. Dwight Taylor of Grinnell, Mrs. Myrtle Callison of Kellogg, and Mrs. Clifford White and Mrs. George Thompson of Newton.
