For a week deep shadows were gathering in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Howard on West McDonald Street and at last their hearts were fill with intense sorrow for their little son was no more with them.

Donald and his little twin sister were born June 17, 1905. His death occurred the night of May 5, 1907. The little one had been ill about ten days with pneumonia, stomach and bowel troubles. The cause of his death was blood poisoning.

Herbert Donald and his sister, Edith, have been admired all their short lives by every one who saw them. They were both beautiful babies and filled the life of the mother and father with so much happiness, while the grandfather in the home, they brought such comfort and joy as only helpless little lives like their can bring. ~ The Newton Daily News, Monday, May 6, 1907, Page 1, Column 4
