Harry Barbour Died At Home January 31st
Harry R. Barbour, 66, a longtime resident of Colfax died Sat. Jan. 31, at his home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church conducted services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Karen) Murphy of San Jose, Calif.’ a step son, Richard Miles of Waterloo; six grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Thelma Brown of Anaheim, Calif.
Mr. Barbour was preceded in death by his wife Mar. 8, 1975.
He was a member of the American Legion for 31 years, and the Colfax Volunteer Fire Department.
An employee at the Maytag Co. and a coal miner, he was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
The son of Henry and Carrie Beckham Barbour, he was born June 19, 1909 in Seevers and was a 1928 graduate of Colfax Community High School.
He was married to Helen Mae Burnett June 24, 1939 at Bethany, Mo.
Mr. Barbour was preceded in death by his wife Mar. 8, 1975, two brothers and a stepson, Gary Miles.

Flowers - Mrs. Robert Gulling, Mrs. Dave Owens.
Bearers - Clyde Brown, Ronald Carroll, Carl Elliott, Larry Mindham, Melvin Van Dusseldorp and George Wall.
