Services Held for Mrs. John (Anna) Yochum Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. John (Anna Victoria) Yochum, 91, a resident of Colfax since 1923, were held Monday at the Colfax United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Yochum died April 27th at Newton.
The Rev. Wm. Leonard Rowse, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Berniece) Brindley of Sun City, Ariz., Mrs. Viola Coomes, La Salle, Colo., Mrs. Edythe Thomason, Des Moines, and Mrs. Jerry (Marcile) Condreay, Columbus, Ohio; three sons, Hubert of Loveland, Colo., Myron of Peoria, Ill., and John of Newton; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband June 12, 1952, a grandchild, two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Yochum was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church and the Church Circle.
The daughter of Charles and Caroline Peterson Swanson, she was born April 12, 1882 in Madrid, Iowa.
On March 6, 1906 she was united in marriage with John Wm. Yochum at Madrid, Iowa.
Organist was Mrs. Frank B. Evans.
Bearers: Earl Bell, Spencer Esslinger, Ronald Mahon, William Reed, Lucien Van Elsen, Ralph Woods.
Taking care of the flowers were Mrs. Carroll Acton, Mrs. Robert Brown, Mrs. W. W. Hiatt.
