Reuben L. Miller, Former Resident, Died Dec. 15th
Reuben L. Miller, 84, a former Colfax business man, died Friday, Dec. 15, 1972 at his home in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Miller was a resident of Colfax from 1912 until 1943 and operating a Plumbing and Heating business here. He moved from here to Kansas City where he had since resided.
The son of Ezra and Eliza Letget Miller, he was born March 8, 1888 at Woodward, Iowa.
On July 26, 1909, he was married to Esther Emily Scarbrough at Akron, Colo.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Lynwood Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife March 1, 1968.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Durbala of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Helen Int Veldt of Sheldon: two sons, Rex R. Miller of Des Moines and Raymond L. Miller of Kansas City, Kans.; two ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 19, 1972 at 1:00 p.m. in Walters Funeral Home at Colfax.
The Rev. Basil Grimes, minister of the Westminister United Presbyterian Church at Des Moines, conducted the services.
The bearers: Carl Durbala Jr., Paul Durbala, Rickey Miller, Robert Cobbs, Don Cobbs and Marshall Willis.
Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
