Mrs. Nellie Patton Dies Aug. 21st
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Patton, 74, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter. The Rev. Morris Hay conducted the services. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery. Mrs. Patton died Monday.
Mrs. Patton was born November 29, 1897 at Baxter, the daughter of Charles and Lydia Gray Beardmore. She was married to David C. Patton on June 29, 1925 at Marshalltown. Mr. Patton died in 1969.
She was raised and educated in Jasper County and employed at the Maytag Co. in Newton for a number of years. She lived most of her married life in the Ira Community.
The lone survivor is Ross Beardmore. Her mother, father, husband and two sisters preceded her in death.
