Daniel Lewis Price Dies August 19th
Daniel Lewis Price, 84, of rural Colfax, a lifelong resident of the Colfax community, died Saturday, August 19, 1872 at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton. He had been in frail health the past several years. Death was from pneumonia.
Mr. Price had farmed many years south of Colfax and continued to reside at his farm home.
The son of James and Margaret Hughes Price, he was born Feb. 20, 1888 at Colfax.
He was married to Mary Ann Naisbitt on Sept. 6, 1910 at Colfax.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Donal (Margaret) Robins of Brooklyn, Iowa, Mrs. Frank (Lillian) Woods of Baytown, Texas, and Mrs. George (Avis) Brown of Newton; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 22, 1972 at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Colfax.
The Rev. Charles Wilder, pastor of the church, conducted the services.
Miss Mable Kaldenberg was the soloist and Miss Eleanor Howell was the organist.
The bearers were: George R. Brown, Dale Clark, Robert Hitchler, George Wm. Naisbitt, Robert Naisbitt and Danny Woods.
Mrs. Wilber Robson and Mrs. Agnes McNeer were in charge of the flowers.
Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
