Laura Luther Dies Here August 19th
Laura D. Luther, 78, lifetime resident of Colfax, died Saturday, August 19, 1972 at the Gardner Custodial Home in Colfax. She had been in poor health for several years.
Miss Luther was born in Colfax March 18, 1894, the daughter of Martin and Wilhelminia Ulrich Luther. She was a 1911 graduate of Colfax High School.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Colfax, a 50 year member of Rose of Sharon Chapter No. 9 Order of Eastern Star, a member of the past Matrons Club and Chapter BA P.E.O. She served as Mother Advisor for the Order of Rainbow for Girls for several years.
Miss Luther was the last member of her family. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 23, 1972 at 2 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Roy Allen Wilson, minister of the Presbyterian Church, conducted the services.
O.E.S. service was held by Rose of Sharon Chapter No. 9 of Colfax.
The bearers were Harold Taylor, Earl DuRocher, David Pratt, Everett Wilson Jr., Harold Frey and Ralph Woods.
The flowers were taken care of by Mrs. Henry Pratt and Mrs. Harold Taylor.
Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
