Harry J. Gibson Dies August 3rd at Des Moines
Harry J. Gibson of 1302 S.W. McKinley, Des Moines, passed away August 3rd at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines at the age of 54 years.
He was born May 10, 1918 at Colfax, the son of George Henry and Margaret Kennedy Gibson.
A native of the Colfax area, he served in the Army in World War II, having been wounded on Anzio Beachhead in North Africa.
He was an employee of the Maytag Company after being discharged from the service.
Mr. Gibson was a member of Christ The King parish in Des Moines and the American Legion.
He was married to Marian Berhow in 1957. To this union one daughter was born.
Funeral Mass was held at Christ The King Church.
Survivors are his wife, Marian, daughter, Karen, two brothers, Francis and George, four sisters, Mrs. Harold Maxwell, Mrs. Jack Freestone, Mrs. Melvin Guy and Mrs. Orval Teed.
