Robt. Walker Died Here Sept. 19th
Robert Walker, 83, a lifelong resident of the Colfax community, died Thursday evening, Sept. 19th at Gardner Custodial Home in Colfax.
The son of Alex and Mary Jane McQuiston Walker, he was born July 17, 1885 in Colfax.
Mr. Walker, the last surviving member of his family, had been a resident of the Custodial Home since 1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors are five nieces and eight nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 22nd at 2 p.m. Sunday in Walters Funeral Home in Colfax. The Rev. Gaylon Decious, minister of the Colfax Christian Church, will conduct the services.
Mrs. Ramon Faidley was the organist and Mrs. Vern Normandin was soloist.
The bearers were Harold Hill, Harvey Hill, Clifford Lewis, Richard Lewis, Russell Lewis and Arthur Tobin.
Mrs. Roscoe Byal was in charge of the flowers.
Burial was in the McKeever Cemetery.

Those from out of town attending the Robert Walker funeral Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. James Vaughn, Dorothy Clark, Mary Vaughn and Violet Grandquist of Des Moines, Arthur Tobin of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Lower of Nevada, Arnold Tobin of Monroe and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Byal of Marion.
