A. C. Gearhart, 90, a lifelong resident of central Iowa, who had been ill for a year, and a resident at Borton’s Nursing Home in Nevada since September, died Wednesday, Jan. 17th.
Mr. Gearhart was born in Colfax March 25, 1877 and has lived in the area all his life. He was married to the former Grace Ware, who preceded him in death, as did two daughters.
He leaves two sons, Clifford D. of Seattle, Wash. and Jess J., of Beloit, Wisc. and daughter, Mrs. Jake (Irene) Gillespie of Guymon, Okla. He also leaves a brother, Earl Gearhart, Newton, Iowa and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Geer, of Faribault, Minn. There are 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with Rev. Leslie Zimmerman officiating. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery, near Colfax.
