Services For Former Resident Held Wed.
Funeral services for Mrs. Beulah Lucille Henderson Shatterman, 52, of Des Moines, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax. The Rev. Marlow Reinholdt, minister of the Immanuel Baptist church at Newton, conducted the services.
Miss Eleanor Howell was the organist and Mrs. Gene Leonard was the soloist.
Bearers were Charles R. Brown, Sgt. Tom Knapp, Robert Mindham, Steven Henderson, Ronald Henderson and Gene Leonard.
Burial was in the Greencastle Cemetery. Beulah Lucille, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Henderson, was born May 14, 1915 at Tarkio, Mo. She spent most of her younger life in the Colfax area and attended school at Greencastle and Colfax. She was married to Robert Joseph Shatterman, Oct. 20, 1967 at Des Moines.
Mrs. Shatterman died Sunday night in her home at Des Moines of a gunshot wound in the head. Her husband, who was charged with the shooting, pleaded innocent in the Des Moines Municipal Court.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Audrey Henderson.
Surviving are her husband, five sisters, Mrs. Carl (Noma) Leonard of Mingo, Mrs. Marion B. (Emily) Myers of Prairie City, Mrs. Don (Celestine) Annis and Mrs. Alvin (Dorothy) Knapp, both of Newton and Mrs. George (Coleen) Sweeney of Arcadia, Calif.; and six brothers,, Harold Henderson of Mingo, Lloyd and Mac Henderson of Colfax, Curtis Henderson of Newton, Master Sgt. Frank Henderson, Hickman field, Honolulu, Hawaii and Wayne Henderson of Altoona.
