Mrs. Fred Wade Died Tuesday at Colfax
Mrs. Fred (Rosetta) Wade, 65, died suddenly Tuesday, January 28th at about 6 p.m. at her home in Colfax. She had been about her home as usual during the day.
The daughter of James and Etta Wilson Samuels, she was born Nov. 1, 1898 in Marion County, Iowa. She attended school at New Sharon.
She was married to Fred Wade, Dec. 17, 1949 at Newton and since then had made her home in Colfax. She had resided at Newton about 40 years before coming to this city.
Mrs. Wade was a member of the Pocahontas Lodge in Colfax.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ray Dickerson, and a brother.
Mrs. Wade is survived by her husband; two sons, Glenn Dickerson of Newton and Gene Dickerson of Mingo; three daughters, Mrs. Guy (Viola) Rogers of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Richard (Janice) Randal of Corona, Calif., Mrs. John (Madlyn) Auten of Newton; a step son, James (Buss) Wade of Long Beach, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Arlo (Edith) Christian of Slater; 24 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
She is also survived by three brothers, Everett Samuels of Newton, Carl Samuels of Martinsburg and Mason Berry of Pine City, Minn.; five sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Grace) Stonehocker of Gardenia, Calif.; Mrs. Dale (Vera) Darling of Montezuma; Mrs. Larry (Floy) Hester of Anaheim, Calif.; Mrs. Don (Amy) Callison of Norwalk, Calif., and Mrs. Norman (Madeline) Leach of St. Louis, Mo.; and her mother, Mrs. George Berry of New Sharon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Toland Funeral Home in Newton. Rev. Arthur V. Long, minister of the First Methodist Church of Newton, will conduct the services.
Burial will be in the Palo Alto Cemetery.
