Yesterday afternoon the funeral for Mrs. L. R. Clements [Angeline Jacobs] was held at the W. G. Clements home on South Vine Street. The services were in charge of Rev. Lewis, pastor of the Methodist Church at Harvey, and Rev. A. B. Appleby of this city offered the prayer. The hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Will Carrier, Miss Edith Souerwine and T. G. Bryant.
Mrs. Clements had been afflicted for a number of years, but the immediate cause of her death was paralysis. She suffered a stroke several days before the end came, which was on Sunday, April 21, at Clarinda, where she was staying for treatment.
The remains were accompanied to this city by her husband, L. R. Clements of Harvey. She leaves three children, Pearl and Harold, who reside at the home in Harvey, and a married daughter and her husband also of the same place, who were here for the funeral.
The others from out of town who attended the funeral were: a brother of the deceased, Herbert Jacobs, of Altoona, Mrs. M. R. Clements and her son, J. S. Clements of Ames, and a niece from Marshalltown.
The interment was in the Newton Cemetery. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, IA, Wednesday, April 24, 1907, Page 4, Column 4
