Mrs. Nelle Hawley
Last rites were held for Mrs. Nelle Hawley on Friday, June 28, at the Morgan Funeral home with the Rev. Dr. E. A. Briggs, of the First Methodist church, in charge. Mrs. Maurice Rodgers, accompanied by Mrs. Paul Murdy, sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Going Home.”
Pallbearers were: J.S. Marshall, Cecil Watson, Paul Guffey, Jack Ringgenberg, William Brockway and Earl Fenn.
Flower committee was Mrs. Cecil Watson and Mrs. Earl Fenn.
Interment was made in Newton Union cemetery.
Mrs. Hawley was born June 10, 1880 in Ackley, Ia., and died at her home in Newton, Wednesday, June 26.
Survivors include her husband, M. W. Hawley and a nephew, Walter Fox, of Newton.
