BARRON, BECKHAM, LATTIMER, MOSS

Final rites were held for Walter Barron at the Morgan Funeral home Saturday, Aug. 3 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Russell Moss, with whom he had lived for the past 13 years.
Mr. Barron had been operator and superintendent of coal mines during most of his adult life. He was born in England Oct. 27, 1860, and came to the United States in 1879. He had lived in Jasper county since 1902.
The Rev. Fredrick D. Boldt of the First Lutheran church officiated at the services. Miss Mary Jean Finch, accompanied by Mrs. Bernard Stanton, sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Under His Wing.”
Pallbearers were John A. Jones, Z. C. Jones, Samuel Pollard, Chas. Stevenson, Claude Baldwin and L. A. Korf.
Mrs. Charles Bishop and Mrs. L. E. Travis arranged the floral offerings.
Interment was made in Newton Union cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ben Beckham, Mrs. William Lattimer and Mrs. R. A. Moss; and sons, Ed Barron of Newton, Fred Barron of Omaha, Neb., and J. W. Barron of Seattle, Wash.; also 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Barron of Ottumwa.
