Arthur Bark, Kellogg Dies
Falls Dead While Cutting Weeds With A Scythe – About Noon
Kellogg – Special to The Daily News – Arthur Bark, 54 year-old Kellogg farmer, was found dead in a field on his farm shortly after noon today, the victim of a heart attack, while he was cutting weeds with a scythe.
Jasper county coroner Ralph V. Toland was called and he said death resulted from a heart attack. He said that Bark apparently died about 12:15 this afternoon, that the attack had hit him as he worked and he had collapsed on the spot.
Mrs. Bark went in search of her husband shortly before 1 o’clock when a neighbor called to see him.
Bark was married, but they have no children. He was a member of the Amboy grange, the Methodist church and the American Legion.
The body was taken to the Morgan Funeral home at Newton.

Arthur Bark Funeral Services 2 p.m. Saturday
Funeral services for Arthur Bark of Kellogg, who died suddenly yesterday afternoon from a heart attack while cutting weedsd at his farm home, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, from the Morgan Funeral home.
Mrs. Pauline Comley, pastor of the Center Friends church, will officiate.
Interment will be made in the Newton Union cemetery.
