Mr. Sam Perkins (colored) for many years a citizen of Monroe, died at the Poor Farm on Sabbath of last week. He was a soldier in the last war, and was highly esteemed. His remains were met at the depot by the Monroe band, and he was buried in the Soldier’s grounds in the cemetery. The Mirror pays high compliments to his worth and integrity.
