Mrs. Bessie Hinkleman Died in Des Moines
Funeral Services Conducted Sunday Afternoon at Bumgardner Funeral Chapel
Mrs. Bessie (Hise) Hinkleman, 68, a former Colfax resident died at her home in Des Moines March 16 of a heart ailment. She has been in failing health for several years.
A daughter of the George and Sarah (Sumpter) Hise, Mrs. Hinkleman was born May 12, 1876 in Colfax, where she lived until two years after her marriage in 1902 to the late Frank E. Hinkleman, a former Colfax tailor. At that time the couple moved to Des Moines.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Krohn of Colfax, Mrs. Ada Lilyard of Boone, Iowa, Mrs. C. E. True of Boston, Mass., who was unable to return for the services and Mrs. Myma Grimm of Des Moines; also one brother, J. T. Hise, who has been clerk at the Churchill hotel in Newton for about 17 years.
Mrs. Hinkleman was a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Bumgardner Funeral Chapel in Colfax with the Rev. I. R. Magers of the Colfax Methodist church officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Plummer and Mrs. George Rinker with Mrs. Floyd Hulse, accompanist.
Pallbearers were E. S. Meckley, R. E. Cummings, W. C. Pierce and George S. Weirick.
Burial was had in the Colfax cemetery.
