Mrs. Jesse Clement
The death of Mrs. Clement occurred at their home in Des Moines Monday afternoon following an illness of less than a week.
The family resided in Colfax for many years and are well known here. Their son, B. F. Clement and family reside here. They went to Des Moines Monday. Another grandson, Carroll Clement resides here and is with Gould Company clothiers. Funeral in M.E. church today at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Cannom.

Mrs. Jesse H. Clement
Sarah Anna Baker was born near New Castle, Ind., March 12, 1851, and died at Des Moines, Iowa, October 1, 1917, aged 66 years, 6 months and 19 days. She came with her parents to Iowa when four years old and settled at Greencastle. The remainder of her early life was spent in Jasper county near Newton. She was married to Jesse H. Clement September 2, 1869. They lived a happy married life for 48 years. To this union was born three sons, George Clinton, Albert R. and Benj. Franklin. She leaves with husband and sons, two brothers and ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
She was baptized in infancy and received into the M.E. church when 15 years of age. She has lived a Christian life since that time.
Funeral occurred at the Methodist church last Friday conducted by Rev. Cannom and attended by Rebekah lodge and many friends.
