Monroe Man Takes Own Life Friday Nite
Reported To Have Worried Over An Accident of Last Fall
William Clark, of Monroe, Iowa, committed suicide by hanging himself in a corn crib at the home of his sister, south west of that city, Friday morning.
Mr. Clark is reported to have been worrying over an automobile accident that occurred last October, on highway No. 14. He and a Ray Hoagland were in the car together when it wrecked and Hoagland was killed.
The act was committed sometime between 11 o’clock on Friday night and 5 o’clock Saturday morning, when he was found by his brother-in-law, Frank Kingery. He had been living part of the time at the home of his sister and the remainder of the time in Monroe, where he worked on the railroad section, but had been out of employment for some time.
He was about 60 years of age. The body was taken to the Crumpacker funeral home in Monroe.
