About a week ago Mr. R. K. Lambert received word from his brother, F. W. Lambert, of Manilla, Iowa, that he was very ill and probably would not recover. Last evening at a quarter to ten he passed away, and this morning Mr. Lambert went to that city and will remain for the funeral.

Deceased was formerly a farmer in Jasper County, for a long time residing with his family two and a half miles northeast of town. He has not been well for a couple of years, and his death was not unexpected. While a resident here Mr. Lambert always took a great interest in the agricultural society work, and will be remembered by many of the old settlers. He has been away from the county ten years or longer.
