Mrs. Hughes north of town received a letter yesterday from Mr. and Mrs. Craig of Huron, Missouri, which told of the death of their daughter, Mrs. L. Johnson. Her death occurred March 13. She was twenty-nine years of age and leaves beside her husband four small children.

Mrs. Johnson was formerly Edith Craig. This is her native city, and for many years she lived with her parents before they removed to Missouri, about two miles northwest of town. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Tuesday, March 26, 1907, Page 1, Column 6

Separation must come sooner or later and it is only God’s grace and live that will sustain us. May the kind providence of the Heavenly Father always protect and care for the little ones left behind and may they be of use to the world and honor by their lives, their mother’s name. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Wednesday, March 27, 1907, Page 1, Column 4
