John Ballard Dies of Heart Attack
Sixty-Three Year Old Resident Dies at Home Here Yesterday
John W. Ballard died yesterday afternoon at his home here at 507 North Second avenue West from a sudden heart attack. He was 63 years of age.
No funeral arrangements will be made, until word is received from distant relatives.
Mr. Ballard was born in Illinois on May 9, 1867 and moved from there to Adel and seven years ago to Newton where he has since been employed in the Maytag factory.
He was a member of the Woodman of the World lodge.
He is survived by his widow, Nora Ballard, two sons, Floyd, of California and Sayburt of Newton, one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Newton, two half-sisters, Mrs. O. F. White of Lyndon and Mrs. Anna Anderson of Cooper, and by two grandsons.

Funeral services for John W. Ballard, who died at his home here from a sudden heart attack, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral home with Rev. W. R. Moore, of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Ballard is survived by his widow, Nora Ballard, two sons, Floyd, of California and Sayburt of Newton, one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Newton, two half-sisters, Mrs. O. F. White of Lydon and Mrs. Anderson of Cooper and by two grandsons.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Fred Reeve and pallbearers were Glenn Bigner, William Davis, E. G. Wilson, Worth Wilson, Harry Jones and Cornie Kleinendorst.
John William Ballard was born in Stock county, Ill., on May 9, 1867 and died at his home in Newton on July 20, at the age of 63 years.
He was married to Elnora Loomis on Sept. 14, 1892 and settled near Jefferson, Ia., later moving to Adel and seven years ago to Newton.
He is survived by his widow, Elnora Ballard, two sons, Floyd of Los Angeles, Calif., and Sayburt of Newton, one daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Johnson of Newton, a stepfather, James Anderson of Cooper and two sisters, Mrs. O. L. White of Linden and Miss Anna Anderson of Cooper.
