Mrs. Nancy Barker Dies Yesterday at Home Near Newton
Mrs. Nancy Barker died at 11:30 o’clock last evening at her home in McFarland’s addition east of Newton. She was 69 years of age.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral Home and burial will be in the Newton cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Barker have been living in Newton for the past year and Barker is employed by the Newton Coal company.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Hill Barker, who died at her home east of Newton, Tuesday morning, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morgan Funeral home with Rev. D. D. Dainty of Knoxville officiating. Burial was in the Newton cemetery.
Music was furnished by a Knoxville duo, who sang, “Rock of Ages” and “Take the Name of Jesus With You.”
Pallbearers were Norman Robson, Earl Hill of Des Moines, Jess Hill, R. Wilcox, Will Robson and Elmer Kinselback.
Mrs. Barker was born on May 1, 1861 in Gahlin county, Ohio, where she lived for a number of years. She was united in marriage to John Hill, who preceded her in death in 1917. To this union eight children were born, five of whom survive.
On May 30, 1925, she was again married to Thomas Barker at Albia. Mr. Barker is employed at the Newton Coal company.
She is survived by her husband, five children, Mrs. Paul Raymie and Frank Hill of Newton, Chancey Hill of Mill springs, Mo., Emory Hill of Hiteman and Lois McLead of Albia, besides a number of grandchildren and other relatives.
