It was with true sorrow that the friends of “Auntie Mason” Croft received the tidings today of her death, which occurred this morning a little before six o’clock, at her home in Colfax, after an illness of only five days of pneumonia and heart trouble.

Her maiden name was Marth Chamberlain. She was born at Ryegate, Vermont, and only last week celebrated her eightieth birthday anniversary.

The funeral will be held on Monday from the Presbyterian Church in Colfax at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Linn, of Casey, her former pastor, will officiate. ~ The Newton Daily News, Saturday, February 16, 1907, Page 1, Column 3
