Warrick Rites To Be Wednesday

COLFAX – Funeral services for John William Warrick, 61-year-old native of Yorkshire, England, who died near Newton Sunday, Jan. 24, will be conducted from the Hartnett Funeral home in Colfax Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 27, at two o’clock. The Rev. Wilmer Doughty pastor of the Colfax Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in McKeever cemetery.

John Wm. Warrick Died Sunday at County Home
Funeral Services Held Wednesday From Cutter-Hartnett funeral Home
Jack Wm. Warrick, 61, a coal miner by trade, died Sunday, Jan. 24, at the county home where he had been a patient for the past two years.
Born in England, Mr. Warrick came to this country as a boy and spent most of his life working in the coal mines. For a number of years he lived in the Oswalt community.
John William Warrick, son of Thomas F. and Hannah Warrick was born March 24, 1881 in Yorkshire, England and passed away near Newton, Iowa, at the age of 61 years and 10 months of age.
He came to this country with his parents when two years of age. The family residing for a time at Mahamini(sic), Mich. From there the family came to Angus, Iowa. After attaining manhood, Mr. Warrick worked at the mining trade at both Oskaloosa and Des Moines before moving to Oswalt thirty-six years ago, where he continued his trade until ill health prevented.
The latter years of his life he spent with his brother, Alfred, being well known by a long list of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were conducted from the Cutter-Hartnett Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. W. M. Doughty officiating.
Pallbearers were Harry and Frank Morgan, Park and Phay Pierce, Tom Wilson and Harry Wilson.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Plummer and Mrs. George Rinker.
Burial was in McKeever cemetery.
