HAROLD BEASON FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT ARISPE

Former Grinnell resident Harold Beason, 51, died Tuesday afternoon at his home in Arispe, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Cohn funeral home at Afton. Graveside services are scheduled in Grinnell at Hazelwood cemetery at 3 p.m. Friday.

Born and raised in the Grinnell area, Mr. Beason left here about 25 years ago.

He is survived by his widow, the former Theresa Strand of Grinnell, and two daughters - - - Denise , 11, and Nancy, 10.

Also survuving are one sister, Mrs. Leona Breeden of Manchester, and four brothers, Donald of Oskaloosa, Eldon of Huntington Park, Calif., Glenn of Livnia, Mich., and Lloyd of Norwalk, Calif.

Harold Raymond Beason, son of Martin G. and Nancy Beason, was born August 22, 1911, near Grinnell, in Powshiek County, Iowa and passed away at the farm home near Arispe, in Union County, March 26, 1963, at the age of 51 years 7 months and 4 days.

He received his early education in the Grinnell schools and was a graduate of Grinnell high school in 1931. He was employed in the Grinnell area and in 1935 was united in marriage to Theresa Strand.

To this union were born two daughters, Denise and Nancy. Mr. Beason entered the Navy in October 1943, serving for a period of two years, and rceived his honorable discharge in December of 1945.

Following his service he was employed as a foreman and then as a superintendent for Koss Construction Company for 17 years until ill health forced him to retire. He had farmed in the Arispe area for the past eight years.

He is survived by his widow , Theresa; two daughters, Denise and Nancy; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Leona) Breeden of Manchester, Iowa; four brothers, Lloyd of Norwalk, Calif., Eldon of Huntington Park, Calif., Glenn of Livonia, Mich., and Donald of Osksloosa, Iowa.
