Former Resident dies
Sherman Doolittle, a former Colfax resident, passed away April 10th in Des Moines. Funeral services were held at the Cutter-Hartnett Funeral Home Friday afternoon with Rev. L. C. McDonald officiating, with burial in the Slaughter cemetery.
Sherman Doolittle, son of James and Anna Doolittle, was born in Des Moines, Polk county on February 2, 1864, and passed away on April 10, 1935, at the home in Polk county, at the age of 71 years, 2 months.
He was united in marriage to Kate Hochstittler on September 8, 1891. To this union three children were born, two preceding him in death. Those remaining to mourn his loss are two brothers, Fred of Seattle, Wash., and Jim of Albuquerque, N. Mex., and one sister, Mrs. George Sumpter of Topeka, Kan., and a half-sister, Mrs. Sherm Ferguson of Mingo and many other relatives and friends.
