The funeral services for Mrs. E. H. Phillips were held from the Baptist Church yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the pastor, Rev. C. A. Tenny officiating. His address was founded on the words, “Oh, death, where is thy victory?,” a favorite text with the deceased.

The church was well filled with the friends of the family. The choir of the Presbyterian Church assisted the pastor in the services with several appropriate selections.

They sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in their bereavement, for the second time within a few weeks death having claimed one from among them. ~ The Newton Daily News, Saturday, October 27, 1906, Page 1, Column 5
