Myron was born on the kitchen table on September 14, 1943 to John and Gladys (McKinney) Finch in Keswick, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Tri-County High School in 1961. Following graduation, he worked at Amana Refrigeration with maintenance and carpenter work. Myron married his high school sweetheart Janice Humphreys on October 17, 1964. Together the young couple built a house on 40 acres outside of North English. Myron and Janice later established their own business and opened Finch Cabinet and Appliance. In 1980 they came across an opportunity in Baxter to purchase a lumber yard, Finch Lumber and Supply was established. While running the lumber yard he also built 9 houses in Baxter. Myron later moved into being a sheet metal fabricator, carpenter work and a handyman before retiring. Myron was on the Baxter Fire Department and was instrumental in starting the Baxter Fireman's Ball. Myron's love of his life was his family and music (he said it made his life worth living), most especially old country. He was in over 10 bands including a family band, played with many other musicians, played numerous street dances, weddings, many other events for over 60 years, Myron even made a record in Nashville. He played the same Guild guitar for 60 years by ear, as he couldn't read sheet music. He was a talented carpenter, sheet metal fabricator, inventor, artist, entertainer, story teller (a memory that was endless). Myron could waterski barefoot, on 1 ski, and could roller skate backwards. He sent off for a patent and was featured in a magazine about his spoke cleaning invention. As a young child, his Dad had built him a derby car and he won races with it. Myron was blessed to have done the same for his grandsons. Myron also enjoyed westerns, John Wayne, Red Green, duct tape, taking Coco (his dog) on rides, loved camping and was a friend to everyone.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife of 53 years Janice Finch of Baxter, IA; daughter Natalie (Kendall) Moorman and grandson Benjamin (Amanda) Moorman, son Brian (Karen) Finch and grandchildren Sean, Troy, Ashlyn, and Brylyn Finch, son Jason (Lanna) Finch and grandchildren Kinsley, Kayden Finch, Annabelle, Joseph, Jordan, Ethan, and Trevor, and daughter Heather (special friend Jade Perry) McReynolds and granddaughter Abby McReynolds; sister Judie Ulin; brother Randy Finch; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
