DoLores Wastier, 91, of Baxter, IA passed away quietly Sunday, March 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a precious gift from God and now rests in His loving arms. DoLores loved and was devoted to her family. She faithfully served God and the Baxter community. When she looks down from heaven, she will be amazed to see the number of lives she touched. She leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.

DoLores was born on July 13, 1926, the daughter of John and Ruby Stinson. She was raised and educated in Baxter where she graduated from the Baxter High School. On August 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Dale Wastier. They were married at the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ. Following their marriage, they made their home in Baxter where they owned and operated the Baxter Mercantile for 23 years. Dale and DoLores were strong advocates for the Baxter Community.

Carrying on DoLores' legacy of love are daughters Connie (Daryld) Karloff of Pleasant Hill, IA; Cathie (Joel) Colwell, Ankeny, IA; her grandchildren Tricia England, Tron (Danelle) England, Christina Conway, Ryan Karloff, Russell Karloff; her great grandchildren Jordan and Carly England and Gage Trusty; and her sister Jeanne Pollard, as well as many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
DoLores was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Stinson, husband Dale, sisters Marie and Margie, and special friend Bud Allan.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, IA. A funeral service to celebrate DoLores' life will follow the visitation. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter. After the service, there will be a time of fellowship at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ, or the Baxter Community Wellness Center.
