Mrs. Sarah Wasson, an aged pioneer of Palo Alto Township, died at her home this morning. She was born in North Carolina April 8, 1824, and was 82 years, 3 months and 16 days old at the time of her death. Her husband was James Wasson, whom she married in Indiana.

The funeral services will be held in the P. U. Church in Palo Alto Township tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock. ~ The Newton Daily News, Tuesday, July 24, 1906, Page 1, Column 3
