Mrs. Jennetta Laskewitz died of apoplexy at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barney Esmeyer, nine miles south east of Newton on the old Van Epps farm.

Mrs. Laskewitz was born in Holland seventy-seven years ago, and come to this country when she was twenty-one years of age, where she has since made her home. She came to visit her daughter a few weeks ago when she was taken ill and passed away about six o’clock Sunday evening.

Funeral services will be held at the Esmeyer residence Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock, Rev. Ottman of Kellogg officiating. Interment will be at the German Cemetery near Galesburg. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Monday, July 9, 1906, Page 1, Column 2
