Funeral rites for Willis (Bill) Wade, 57, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Morgan Funeral home by the Rev. James F. Phillips, pastor of the Baptist church. Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.
Leonard James, accompanied by Lois Hundling, sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Lead Kindly Light”.
Pallbearers were Harry Barton, M. L. Stacey, Arthur Gangsted, Adrian Sapp, Charles Keith and Dick Kennedy.
Mr. Wade, a lifelong resident of Jasper county, was born April 4, 1884, at Newton, Ia., and died Feb. 27, 1941 at Newton.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Wade and he was a salesman.
Surviving are his wife, three brothers, Otis of Casper, Wyo., M. A. Wade of Chicago, Ill., R. C. Wade of Los Angeles, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Ethel McFaden of Chicago, Ill.
