Mrs. Richardson Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Dan Richardson, 79, who died here Sunday evening, Feb. 23 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George M. Anspach, were conducted Wednesday at the Hayden chapel near Eddyville, Ia.
The Rev. W. J. Hasty, pastor of the Albia Christian church, was in charge and interment followed in the Hayden Chapel cemetery.
The Albia duet sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Abide With Me”.
Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Frank Oliver and Mrs. Cliff Woodruff.
Pallbearers
Pallbearers were Byron Wehrman, Harold Thompson, James Young, Dale Anspach, Cliff Woodruff and Carl Crowell.
A number of Newton friends and relatives attended the service.
Martha Dehaven Richardson, widow of Daniel Richardson of Avery, Ia., and the daughter of Benjamin and Jane Anderson, was born in Monroe county, Ia., on May 20, 1861, and departed from this life on Feb. 23, 1941 at Newton, Ia., at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 3 days.
She had spent her entire life in Monroe county with the exception of two years in Colorado. She was united in marriage with Daniel Richardson on April 13, 1882, at Albia, Ia.
Six Children
To this union were born six children, all of whom survive with the exception of one son, John A., who was killed in a construction accident at Denver, Colo., in 1927.
Surviving are one son, Ed of Truax, Ia., and four daughters, Mrs. Laura Gray of Newton, Mrs. Grace Crowell of Merino, Colo., Mrs. Jennie Britten of Lincoln Acres, Calif., and Mrs. Lois Anspach of Newton.
Also surviving are one brother, Will Anderson of Eddyville, Ia., and one sister, Lina Sapp of Denver, Colo., 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
