Life Story Of Harold Wilson
Harold Wilson, 62, of 3701 E. University in Des Moines, a farmer longtime resident of Jasper County, died Sunday at his home after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Monroe Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Walter Miller, minister of the church conducted the services. Burial was in Vandalia cemetery.
Mrs. June LeGrand provided instrumental music.
Pallbearers were John Van Roekel, Ordelle Oldham, Ben Van Wyk, Ralph Van Wyk, Fred Jensma and Conrad Garland.
Mrs. John Van Roekel and Mrs. Chas. Hoagland were in charge of flowers.
Obituary
The son of Albert and Marcella Woody Wilson, he was born June 2, 1902, near Reasnor and resided in Jasper County until moving to Des Moines in 1957.
He was married to Minnie Hawkins March 1, 1928, at Des Moines.
Survivors are his wife, Minnie; three daughters, Mrs. Doyle (Beverly) Van Essen of near Monroe; Mrs. Paul (Louise) Lane of Des Moines and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Harmison of Runnells; and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Harley of Oskaloosa and Clyde and Everett of Monroe; and three sisters, Mrs. Olive Jones of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Russell (Esther) Morris of Newton and Mrs. Marion (Ethel) Spain of Reasnor.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Wilson was a carpenter by trade.
