Services Held Sunday For Mildred Price
Mrs. Hubert (Mildred) Price, 41, of Monroe, a lifelong resident of Jasper county, died at 4:35 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, May 19, at the Monroe Methodist Church.
The Rev. James Poulsen, minister of the church, assisted by the Rev. Edward Zook, minister of the Church of the Brethren south of Prairie City, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe cemetery.
Mrs. Wayne Lubberden was the organist.
Pallbearers were Rodger Lewis, Raymond Kane, John Van Ryswyk, Jon Woody, George Timmins and Clyde Waters.
Mrs. Ivy Dingeman and Mrs. Cleo Fouch were in charge of the flowers.
Obituary
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband; two sons, John, 16, and Clint, 5, at home; a brother, Kenneth Meyers in the Air Force in North Dakota; a sister, Mrs. Mel (Delores) Valentine of Marshalltown; her mother, Mrs. Richard Meyers of Monroe; and a grandmother, Mrs. John Sellers of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Meyers, she was born September 6, 1921, in Prairie City.
She was educated in Newton schools and was a member of the 1938 graduating class.
She was married to Hubert Price in December 1939 in Muscatine and had resided in or near Monroe since her marriage.
