Howard Herwehe Passed Away Sat.
Howard (Tod) Herwehe, 58, a lifelong resident of Monroe, died Saturday evening at his home after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Monroe Baptist church.
The Rev. Donald Brong, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe cemetery.
Dean Kool of Evanston, Ill., the soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Abram Kool, the organist.
Pallbearers were Abram Kool, John Vriezelaar, Lloyd Zickel, Archie Bowans, Guy Wilson and Carl Wilson.
Mr. Herwehe is survived by his wife, a son, Lloyd; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Shirley) Foster of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Horace Oldham and Mrs. Sarah Tool of Monroe, three brothers, Earl and Jake of Monroe and Fred of Norwalk; and six grandchildren, Stevie, Mary Jo and Billy Todd Herwehe, Vicki, Miki Todd and Lisi Rose Foster.
Mr. Herwehe had been a barber in Monroe for the past 35 years.
The son of Adam and Sarah Herwehe, he was born May 1, 1901 at Monroe.
He was married October 8, 1924 to Dorothy Cooper.
Mr. Herwehe was a member of the Monroe Baptist church.
