Death of John Robison
Died, at his home on East Washington St., Saturday morning, May 21st, at 8 o’clock, Mr. John Robison, aged 39 years, 9 months and 20 days.
Mr. Robison had been sick since last July, his disease being consumption. He was the second son of W. J. and Tabitha Robison of Richland Township, and was born in Henry County, Ill., August 1, 1858. He came to Jasper County in February 1875, and was married to Miss Mattie J. Richards December 18, 1879. To them were born two sons, Charlie and Joy, aged now respectively 17 and 14 years. Besides his parents he leaves three brothers and three sisters, Scott, William and Arthur Robison, Mrs. Effie Rymer and Mrs. Minnie Morgan, all of this county, and all of whom were present at the funeral. Mr. Robison was a kind husband and father and was respected by a large circle of friends. The family has the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
Brief funeral services were held at the home at 2 o’clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. V. Cowan, after which the remains were taken to Adamson Grove Cemetery for interment. ~ The Newton Record Thursday, May 26, 1898
