Resident’s Mother Died March 4
Mrs. Melvin (Gladys) Boyle, 86, of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Newton, died Wednesday, March 4, at the home.
Private family graveside rites were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 6th at the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
The Rev. Jim Pemble, pastor of the Colfax United Methodist Church, conducted services. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Survivors are a son, John, of Winona, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) Smith of Colfax; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958, parents, two sisters and a daughter.
The daughter of Forrest and Hattie C. Williams Pattee, she was born Jan. 28, 1895 in Weston, Neb., and was educated in Des Moines schools.
She was married July 12, 1921.
Mrs. Boyle was a longtime resident of Des Moines.
