Lloyd Weldon Dies Sunday; Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Lloyd R. Weldon, 76, of 315 W. 11th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1918, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Wallace Funeral Home.
Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today.
He died Sunday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Survivors are his wife, Elsie; a son, James of Belle Plaine, a daughter Mrs. Willard (Barbara) James of Vernal, Utah; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Lyle E. and Conrad Weldon, both of Colfax; and three sisters, Helen Weldon of Colfax, Mrs. Russell (Melba) Gildersleeve of Kellogg and Mrs. Cotton (Lucille) Robbins of Demming, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John, in 1960 and a sister in infancy.
Mr. Weldon was associated with W and W Furniture and Bottle Gas and Merchants Transfer.
The son of Louis and Maggie Estella Creese Weldon, he was born Oct. 31, 1904 in Decatur County.
He was married to Elsie Kleinendorst Feb. 28, 1931 in Grand River.
