Mrs. Sarah Emerling was the daughter of Richard and Sarah Gillman and wife of James Emerling. She was born at Winterset, Iowa the 29th of February 1856 and died March 15th 1925 at the age of 69 years and 15 days. She leaves one step daughter, Sadie Brunson of Missouri and two sons, Charles and Fred of Des Moines, also one brother, John Gillman of Missouri and one sister, Mrs. Mary Head of Council Bluffs, to mourn her loss.
She had lived in Iowa all of her life and has lived in Mingo for about 17 years. She was a member of the Methodist church since the year 1888.
The funeral was held in the Methodist church at Mingo and was in charge of the lady Evangelist, Mrs. Nellie R. Cox, who is at Colfax at the present time.

Fred Emmerline and Charley Pettit of Des Moines came to Mingo Monday morning being called here by the death of their mother, Mrs. Emmerline who passed away Sunday at 1:20 p.m. Obituary elsewhere.
