The remains of Mrs. O. H. France, whose sudden death occurred at St. Charles, Saturday morning, were brought to this city yesterday afternoon and taken to Mount Zion, where the funeral services were held and the body interred.
Mrs. France had just eaten her breakfast and seemed as well as usual, when without any warning, she was taken with a severe pain in her side, and seated in a chair, she died only a few minutes after this attack.
Mr. and Mrs. France for about twenty-five years resided on a farm east of Reasnor. They left Jasper County ten years ago, and for several years their home was in St. Charles. At the time of her death she was 71 years, 7 months and 14 days of age. Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Laney Bucklew, who accompanied the remains here, she leaves three sons: William, whose home is near Reasnor, Alphonso of Whittaker, California, and Leonard France of this city.
Rev. J. Will Payne, of Sully, officiated at the funeral services held yesterday, and the pallbearers were their old neighbors and friends, George Hughes, Henry Efnor, George and Robert Denniston, and Henry and Lewis Landmesser. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Wednesday, April 18, 1906, Page 4, Column 4
