D. C. Gifford of Prairie City suffered a stroke of paralysis last Tuesday morning, he death following Wednesday evening about 7 o’clock. This was the second attack and for several months he has lain in a helpless condition. The funeral was held in Prairie City yesterday and the remains taken to Davenport for cremation. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Friday, April 20, 1906, Page 4, Column 3
