Died at her home in Elk Creek Twp., on the morning of Sept. 20th, Mrs. Sophia Andreas. Deceased was the mother of Fred C. Andreas. She was 85 years of age and was one of the earliest settlers of the township. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday at 11 o’clock and the remains laid to rest in the German Cemetery, beside her husband who died several years ago. Rev. J. G. Ottmann of Kellogg conducted the services. ~ The Newton Record Thursday, September 22, 1898
