Mrs. Effnor died March 13, 1906, at 7:15 p.m. at the State University Hospital in Iowa City, where she had undergone a surgical operation for an abscess on the brain several days before.

Letia Bell was born in Utica, Ohio, February 25, 1863. In 1871 the mother with her family of four children, removed to Galesburg, Iowa, the father having died several years before. In 1881 she was married to Oscar Efnor. To them were born five children, three sons and two daughters. Lillie Maude died March 15, 1903.

Mrs. Efnor had been a member of the church since a small child, uniting first with the Christian Church at Galesburg, and later after her marriage she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Reasnor, of which she was a member at the time of her death.

She was a good wife and mother, thinking much of her home and caring more for its duties and to assist her children to become well qualified to attend to the large work of life, and no sacrifice was too great for her to make that this end might be accomplished.

She leaves a husband, a daughter, Miss Grace, and three sons, her mother, Mrs. Bell, two sisters, Mrs. Robert Efnor of Webster, South Dakota, and Mrs. J. L. King of Cripple Creek, Colorado.

The funeral was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church Friday, March 16, at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. J. C. Willits of Oskaloosa, assisted by Rev. D. F. Stiles and W. L. Fry. The interment was in the Newton Cemetery. ~ The Newton Daily News, Tuesday, March 20, 1906, Page 1, Column 3
