Donna Reynolds Services Set For Thursday
Funeral services for Sgt. Donna Ann Reynolds, 21, of Keesler Air Force Base near Biloxi, Miss., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The Rev. Edward J. Shepherd, pastor of the church and the Rev. E. William Kaska, associate pastor of the church, will conduct the services.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
Military graveside rites will be conducted at the Newton Union Cemetery b y an Air Force unit from Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Neb.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors are her husband, Sgt. Michael E. Reynolds; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Cobbs of 1404 N. 4th Ave. W., Newton; two brothers, Robert A. Cobbs of Des Moines and Michael S. Cobbs of Newton; two sisters, Teresa Marie and Bernice Ann Cobbs, both of Newton; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Durbala of Cedar Rapids; and her maternal great-grandfather, Ruben L. Miller of Kansas City, Mo.
St. Reynolds was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was a medical technician at Keesler Air Force Base.
The daughter of Donald A. and Rose Mary Durbala Cobbs, she was born July 16, 1950 in Newton and was a 1969 graduate of Newton Community High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for a year before enlisting in the Air Force.
She was married to Michael E. Reynolds July 29, 1970 at Shepherd Air Force Base in Texas.
Sgt. Reynolds died Thursday in an automobile accident enroute to duty at the Air Force base. Her husband, who was injured in the same accident, is reported to be in “fair” condition at the base hospital.
