Robert Dean Brown
December 19, 1942 ~ November 20, 2017 (age 74)

Robert Dean Brown, 74, of Newton died on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center. Robert will be buried at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Robert, the son of Alfred and Birdeen (Stark) Locker, was born on December 19, 1942 in Des Moines. He grew up in Newton and had worked at the Foundry, in road construction, and in floor maintenance at the Ruan Building. Robert later moved to Licking, Missouri and worked in the Licking nursing home for 13 years. Robert moved back to Newton in the mid 1990’s. He loved animals and invited raccoons and cats into his home.

Robert is survived by his sister, Kay Patterson of Newton and Linda (Chuck) Templeton of Newton; aunts, Ona Hassig of Newton, Ruth Harger of Texas, and Georgie Farrow of Colorado; and his nieces, Paula (Billy) Noah of Klemme, Pam (Lynn) Munson of Monroe, Teri (Steve) Cadman of Des Moines, Heather (Kevin) Youngman of Chicago, Illinois, and Nicole (Nick) Friedman of Urbandale.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Paul Patterson. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 20 Nov 2017.
