Funeral services for Kenneth Eugene “Gene” Waddle of Monroe, were held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Flagg, officiating. Burial followed in the Silent City Cemetery, Monroe.
Kenneth passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 23 days.

Kenneth Eugene Waddle was born on April 30, 1935, in Monroe, Iowa, the son of Ralph Waddle and Margery (Webster) Waddle. Ken grew up in Monroe, graduating with the Monroe High School Class of 1953. He was united in marriage to Marlene Cobler on March 31, 1956 in Unionville, Mo, the two were later divorced. Gene was a farmer and remained on his farm until 2008 when his health forced him to move into Pleasant Care Living Center and then on to Westridge Nursing and Rehab Center. He enjoyed attending Rick Van Donsler’s auctions where he could buy a truck load for $5.00 and often start reselling before he even left the auction. He also enjoyed coffee time with his friends. Ken was strong willed and a hard worker who loved to tinker and repair anything.
Survivors include his children, Gary (Marla) Waddle of Pella, Caren Just of Knoxville; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Peterson, Derek, Bethany and Tiffany Just, Alison (Bill) Donavan, Bradley (Jen) Waddle; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler Peterson, Collin Peterson, Tori Peterson, Lane Waddle and one on the way; siblings, Norman Waddle and Donnie Waddle of Monroe, Freida Waddle of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
